Bio

MLA Lenore Zann was born in Sydney Australia before moving to Canada with her parents at age 8. They settled first in Bible Hill, then Truro, and after performing lead roles in three CEC high school musicals, Lenore became a professional actor by age 17 after performing summers at Neptune Theatre in Halifax.

Upon graduation Lenore attended York University in Toronto where she studied Theatre, Dance and Political Science. She hit the big time after spending a summer performing at the Charlottetown Festival understudying Anne of Green Gables, where she was "discovered" and offered the starring role of "Marilyn Monroe" in a new original rock opera at the Edmonton Citadel Theatre.

That performance made Lenore Zann a Canadian star at the age of 20 and her career in Film, TV, and Animation began in earnest - with performances in many different cities across North America and around the world.

In her 30's Ms Zann made it to the stage in New York, Off-Broadway, and to Hollywood as well where her voice became famous in Animation series such as "Rogue" in the 90's X-Men cartoon series, My Little Pony, Rescue Heroes, Dragon Tales, The Mummy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many more.

While in Hollywood and New York Lenore also wrote her first play - and performed it at the Neptune Theatre in Halifax begore taking it to New York for an extended run Off-Broadway before finally moving back home to Truro in 2007.

Once home in Truro Lenore was asked to run for politics by the New Democratic Party and proceeded to win three consecutive elections. I have represented ten different Opposition Critic Portfolios over the past five years and now represent five: Status of Women, Environment, Aboriginal Affairs, Advanced Education and Agriculture.
